Safe Places is more than a name - it is a promise that our staff is spending time with children, young people and adults who want to create safe places in their lives, places without violence and abuse. We fulfill our mission in many ways. Some of those ways include:
- Creating safe places for children and adults who are exposed to violence or who have been victimized by violence and abuse.
- Offering comprehensive and compassionate services that nurture children, adolescents and adults when violence has occurred.
- Working with children in their social context, so that violence prevention initiatives have effect in families, schools, community youth programs and neighborhoods.
- Encouraging individuals to create independent lives, free of violence, for themselves and their families.
- Helping persons develop the resilience and sense of self that leads to safe and healthy boundaries and respectful relationships.
