You have come to trust The Center for Healing and Hope.
Now you will know us by a name you can still trust - Safe Places.

Safe Places is more than a name - it is a promise that our staff is spending time with children and young people, helping create safe places in their lives, places without violence and abuse . . .

places at home, in schools, and in neighborhoods and communities.

We also work with the adults who help children grow and thrive, and who help keep them safe and protected.

We fulfill our mission in many ways. Some of those ways include:

  • Offering comprehensive and compassionate services that nurture children, adolescents and families when violence has occurred.

  • Working with children in their social context, so that violence prevention initiatives have effect in families, schools, community youth programs and neighborhoods.

  • Encouraging individuals to create independent lives, free of violence, for themselves and their families.

  • Helping children and youth develop the resilience and sense of self that leads to safe and healthy boundaries and respectful relationships.
