Karla Contreras
Sexual Violence Support Center
Victim Support Specialist for Resource Development and Scheduling

Karla is a 2005 graduate of Arkansas State University, and received a Master's degree in 2007 from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. She is our second bilingual advocate, and will specifically serve child and adult victims of sexual violence. Karla has extensive experience in providing after school supplemental education to school-aged children, creating school curricula in both English and Spanish for students, and serving as liaison and interpreter between Spanish speaking families and school personnel.
Kathy Manis Findley

Certified Victim Assistance Professional – Advanced Practice
Certified Trauma Specialist
Pastoral Counselor

Kathy holds advanced certification in victim assistance from the Joint Center on Violence and Victim Studies. She is trained as a child forensic interviewer through the American Prosecutors Research Institute's National Child Protection Training Center. In 2009, she was named the Arkansas Business Nonprofit Executive of the Year for her work with Safe Places.

Kathy is the author of two books, Voices of Our Sisters and The Survivor's Voice: Healing the Invisible Wounds of Violence and Abuse, as well as our published curriculum manual for faith communities and clergy, If This Is Not a Place: A Violence Prevention and Intervention Training Curriculum for Communities of Faith and Clergy.
Lisette Yang
Latino Advocacy and Outreach Coordinator


Lisette is a graduate of the Arkansas Victim Assistance Academy and holds degrees in public relations, graphic design and communication. As an expert translator, she is in high demand with non-English speakers, providing advocacy services to victimized Latino families. Lisette is responsible for our curriculum, brochures and other materials for non-English speaking families. She serves on the faculty of the Arkansas Victim Assistance Academy and is a trainer for several local and statewide organizations.
Ann Prosper
Sexual Violence Support Center
Victim Support Specialist for Education
and Outreach

Ann is a 1998 graduate of Shorter College and holds certification in substance abuse counseling. She is experienced in working with both senior adults and young people, and has worked in several local youth development and prevention education programs. She was appointed in 2002 to the Governor's Steering Committee for Abstinence Education. She has worked at Willow House, the D.R.E.A.M. After School Program, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Arkansas.

Rhonda Johnson
Volunteer Coordinator

Having worked previously at the Martin Luther King Commission, Rhonda is an asset to our staff in helping recruit, train and manage a fulls corps of volunteers to help serve victims of violence and assist us with many other important tasks. Rhonda is a trained support group facilitator, and currently leads our domestic violence group.
Kelly Wallace
Victim Support Specialist

Karla holds a Bachelor of  Science degree in Elementary Education from Arkansas Tech University. She is a former public school teacher with expertise in working with children and their families. She served as Director of Client Services for the Children's Protection Center in Little Rock and was the Pulaski and Saline County Multidisciplinary Child Abuse Team Coordinator, reporting to the Arkansas Commission on Child Abuse, Rape and Domestic Violence.
Nicolas Mayerhoeffer
Director of Development

Nicolas Mayerhoeffer worked in marketing communications with Euronet Worldwide and as marketing coordinator at NetGain Technologies, Inc.  Nicolas brings expertise to our development program because of his work in international marketing and business development. He works as marketing consultant at Above Marketing.
