The Safe Talk & Play Prevention Education Program is designed for preschool and young children, providing opportunities for children to feel safe as they interact casually with caring adults in a manner that actually feels to them like "playing in a safe setting." 
The program features prevention education groups that can be scheduled for 6 to 8 consecutive weeks, either in child care centers, schools, after school programs or on-site at Safe Places.

The prevention education groups for young children use the following curricula/topics:


Violence prevention education programs are funded through private donations and are available at Safe Places and at several locations. Schools or other groups interested in scheduling one or more of the following programs may contact Safe Places at 501.351.SAFE (73233)

Hands Are Not for Hitting
Hands  are for playing, creating, helping, working, learning, encouraging, taking care of oneself, and so many more good things.  This curriculum presents charming new illustrations along with the familiar encouraging message of the original book.  It helps young children understand that violence is never okay, that they can manage their anger and other strong feelings, and that they are
The Quit It! Program helps prevent bullying among children from ages 5 through 9 . The program consists of nine classroom lessons designed to help you students explore bullying and develop ways to prevent it.  The lessons  include problem-solving assignments, games and


exercises that help young children learn. Leaders will find a variety of reproducible worksheets and family activity letters.

Hands Are Not for Hitting is appropriate for childcare settings, as well as for preschool, kindergarten, and early elementary school classrooms.
